Pete Cornelius and the DeVilles (est 1999), have released eight full length albums, toured relentlessly, both national and international. Featured at some of Australia's most prestige festivals, including Byron Bay's Bluesfest, The Great Southern Blues Festival, Blues on Broadbeach, Thredbo Blues Festival, The Australian Blues Festival and more.
The DeVilles have gone through a few different phases in the past eleven years. Originally a hard hitting Texas blues band, playing tunes from the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix. But have now settled into a new groove. Pete's song writing, singing and guitar playing have evolved into something that can't quite be described or put under genre titles, but still remain comfortable in the blues roots camp.
His latest instalment Tumbleweed features six original songs and a few handpicked covers from Neil Young, Allen Toussaint and Rory Gallagher. It has already received many rave reviews and worldwide airplay. As for Pete's solo acoustic career, he's been playing a stack of shows all around Australia, also time in the UK, EUR and US. He released Gonna' Burn in late 2005, which is a blues roots feast.
Featuring quirky covers and matching originals. Pete played all the instruments, this gives a real live in your lounge room vibe. His live shows consist of many styles, but all come together with foot stompin' slide guitar infused feel good delta blues. Endorsed by Fender Australia, Pure Tone Strings, Tonerider Pickups and Pedals.
